Hello and welcome to our class blog! I am looking forward to reading your thoughts throughout our year together!
Did you ever notice that people who work as a team often have a mascot? A mascot is a character, animal or symbol that represents qualities the team wants to see in themselves! Our class mascot this year will be the Funky Monkey! Can you think of some things that are true about monkeys that might also be true about who we can be as a class this year? I'm so excited to read your ideas and to have a wonderful school year! Love, Miss Kalmus

I think monkeys work together a lot and seem to be silly and have a lot of fun. If our classroom tries to have fun and work as a team we should have a great year!

They eat bananas; which are healthy. They like to swing like we do on monkey bars. They like to have fun and their cute. They care about their families. They like to learn like we do.

Hi Abigail! I agree with you that as monkeys, we will be healthy, play, have fun, and be caring! We will love learning, too! I'm excited to do all this and more with you and your classmates this year!

One more thing! Monkeys have very good personality's. If the monkeys can have good personality's, we can to!

I didn't know third grade could be so amazing! I still think being in a split class is interesting. Also, I like being in a class with another grade. Its a better chance of making new friends. I think I already did make one! As long as school stays amazing, I'll love it! :)

I'm so happy you're happy, Elara! I'm also thrilled that you realize being in a split gives you 16 new chances for friends you might not have made without the split! It's so cool that you've already made a new friend! A big part of the reason 3rd grade is amazing so far is that YOU are amazing! :)
